About

A Tipperary man living in Connemara in Galway. Enjoying a busy, stimulating and healthy retirement.

I’m Bill Griffin, a native of Clogheen in Co.Tipperary. I attended De la Salle Boarding schools for 6 years before I decided I didn’t have that higher calling so beloved by Catholic Ireland. In 1976 I emigrated to England to undertake training as a mental health professional. That started a wonderful 40 year work life in human services. During my 23 years in England I met my wife Sharon. In 1998 we moved to live in Galway in the West of Ireland with our children Rory, Kieran and Helen. I retired in 2017 and discovered the joy of being able to allocate more time to the things I like most.

Some of what I do.

Writing , reading and music are my main passions.

My wife Sharon and I are caravanners both in Ireland and abroad.

I love gardening. Better than therapy and you get flowers as well.

I love lots of sports. Obviously I follow Tipperary in hurling but I also support West Ham Utd in the Premier League.
